Coming home to a cold condo after a day of shopping on Merritt Island

Whenever my mom visits me at my condominium in Cocoa, we like to go shopping at the mall on Merritt Island.

She lives in Michigan and is eager to visit me whenever she can, but usually she prefers to do it in the winter so it’s a nice trip.

The last thing you want to do is lose the pleasant summer weather up north for hot and humid weather in Florida. This past year I decided to visit her in Michigan before we jumped into her car and drove back to my condo in Cocoa. She lives in Ann Arbor which isn’t too far away from Detroit. The weather is cold throughout autumn, winter, and early spring, but early summer is extremely pleasant. Once we got into the car to head south, I could tell we were in for some serious heat as we transitioned from northern states into southern states. Georgia was particularly warm, but it was north Florida when we started to sweat in the car. We arrived at my condo in Carlton Terrace and made plans to go shopping on Merritt Island the following day. It’s a short drive over the bridge that goes over the Indian River and connects Merritt Island and Cape Canaveral to the mainland. After shopping on Merritt Island, we drove to the Intracoastal Waterway bridge at Merritt City so we could visit another shopping mall in Highland Park. It was so hot that day that my mother and I were ecstatic to return to my cold condominium since I activated the air conditioner with my smart thermostat roughly one hour before I expected our arrival.
