It doesn’t take long for the weather to warm up.
I love living in St. Petersburg. The city is located along the Gulf Coast, where the weather is ideal year-round. There is an everage of 361 sunny days per year. After spending the first fifty years of my life in the northeast, dealing with the cold and snow, I am delighted by the blue skies, sandy beaches and palm trees. The climate is characterized by hot, humid summers and mild winters. From June until the end of August, the temperature often climbs into the nineties. Whale afternoon thunderstorms are common, they help to cool things down. I like to visit the city’s waterfront parks, take a ip in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and attend the outdoor festivals. From September thru November, the fall weather is just about perfect. The daily high rises in to the eighties and the nights dip into the high sixties. It’s my favorite time of year. In December, the winters are very different from the negative digits, brutal wind chill and feet of snow on the ground I was accustomed to. In St. Petersburg, the temperature rarely drops below sixty degrees. There is no worry over now or even a frost. The city can get a bit crowded during the holidays because of the snowbirds. The spring is truly beautiful with the blooming flowers and vibrant greenery. It doesn’t take long for the weather to warm up. I like this time of year for hiking, biking and heading to the beach. The Gulf beaches are a wonderful opportunity for sunbathing, swimming or collecting shells. I enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding and sailing.
