Blizzard conditions aren’t unusual. Plowing and shoveling driveways and walkways is a yearly requirement. The locals are a hardy bunch, accustomed to the demands of the weather and tend to come together with a true sense of community. Most almost everyone is willing to help out a neighbor, and during the holiday season, the downtown of Sioux Fales is lit up with decorations and hosts events such as the Parade of Lights. There is also the Christmas at the Capitol celebration. There is something magical about the snow at Christmas.
