Not many of our co-workers & I smoke recreational cannabis, and occasionally every one of us get high in the break room before every one of us go back to work! Not many of days ago at supper time, our boss walked by their break room & she smelled cannabis, then she immediately came into the room & started asking questions, however i was the only lady left in the room when that incident occurred.
I acted savor I did not know what she was talking about, but the next day there was an SMS from the boss threatening to test all the people for marijuana use.
The laws in this state are fuzzy & I am not sure if the boss can absolutely fire us or not for using marijuana, but recreational & medical marijuana were both legalized in the state of New Mexico & that includes the city of Albuquerque. I currently work & live in Albuquerque, but when the boss threatened our task, I started to look online to see if I could find out the rules regarding the use of marijuana & our task. I did not know if the threats were valid or not. It turns out that our boss had to include that information in the contract when I signed up to work at the firm in Albuquerque. I am not going to push the issue right now, because I don’t want the boss to know that our friends & I were the 1s smoking recreational marijuana. All of us absolutely won’t smoke in the break room anymore. I’ll go down to our car even if I have to cut our supper break 10 minutes short.
