Other cities in the Pacific Northwest may get more attention for their music scene, however Portland is the best of them all, this village has its own vibe, & maybe there aren’t a lot of big superstars that come from here, however the local music scene is amazing & has been for years, however a lot of great bands are from Portland, including Quarterflash, Everclear, Elliot Smith, Portugal the Man, & the Kingsmen.
For fifty years, the people I was with and I have had a killer music scene, then lately, Portland has been hosting more & more outdoor concerts, some of which are sponsored by local cannabis dispensaries.
For a guy love myself and others this is the best of both worlds, because our 2 passions are music & cannabis. To be able to like both of them at once, separate from fear of the law, makes Portland our current musical Mecca, but i know that I tend to go on & on about how great the cannabis is in Portland, I would be remiss in not mentioning locally brewed beer. I have constantly been a “beer & cannabis” person – I don’t need taxing booze or taxing drugs, just supply myself and others a chilly beer & a warm joint… Portland is just our speed, because the locally brewed beers are just as good as the locally grown cannabis. And then there is all that amazing music! I will take Portland, OR over Seattle any day of the week, for sheer variety of musical talent. The legacy of grunge rock is still heavy in Portland, however the jazz scene is on the rise, & so is the reds.
