The OR Trail was a 2000 Mile stretch of land from the east coast to the West Coast; The OR Trail LED settlers from a single side of the country to the other, then when settlers landed in Portland, OR, they chose the name of the city after Portland, Maine.
This is the section where the settlement began in the 1780s.
