A couple of my friends and I decided to visit San Francisco Last Summer. We live in Arizona, so it was an 8-hour drive from our apartment to the hotel where we booked a room. My friends and I picked up some recreational marijuana supplies before we left town. We smoked a lot of weed on our way to San Francisco, and we had to find a dispensary as soon as we arrived. My friends and I did not realize how much taxes would be added to the order. We had $150. We ordered $150 worth of recreational marijuana supplies from a dispensary. The dispensary delivered directly to our hotel. When the driver arrived with our order, we found out that their total was $213. The price for the order was $60 more and all of those fees were state, local, and excise taxes. When the delivery driver arrived and gave us the total for the order, all of us were shocked. The person on the phone at the recreational marijuana dispensary did not tell my friends and I that the total did not include taxes. When the driver arrived, we had to remove a couple of items from our order. The San Francisco taxes on weed are outrageous. If my friends and I ever return to the West Coast for vacation, we will definitely stock up on recreational marijuana supplies before we even leave our home. We won’t get caught without weed again in San Francisco. We learned our lesson when we were embarrassed in front of the delivery driver.
